DONATIONS & FUNDRAISERS

HODIE DETERMINAT CRAS

TODAY DETERMINES TOMORROW

Merit Academy is in its start-up phase and, as is common with other non-profit contract or charter schools of choice, we need seed funding and donations. Start up funding usually averages a minimum of $400,000 in year one, and $150,000 each year for years two through five, until the school reaches maturity. These costs include  hiring, professional development, technology, curriculum, security, classroom furniture, library materials, art and music supplies, transportation, and other start-up/expansion expenses.

There is little to no seed funding through government entities for these start-up costs.  Many grants are geared to urban, and not rural, school choice options.

We have tremendous support by many community members. There is an overwhelming desire for a virtues-based, classical, Core Knowledge, parent/community-led school in the area. However, to truly be successful, our 501c3 school also needs financial support.

While we are actively seeking grants for implementation and seed funding, there are several ways for individuals and companies to contribute to the classical education of our local children:

BUY A BRICK

Our main community fundraiser for year one is our Buy A Brick fundraiser. For $100, you can buy a 4x8" brick with three lines of inscription. For $200, you can purchase an 8x8" brick with six lines of inscription. These will be assembled as the Merit Academy's Wall of Fame and Walk of Fame.

This is a great way to begin the Merit Academy tradition and see your family's legacy! The wall and walk will be built after year two, when we finalize our permanent facilities.

COMPANY OR INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS

Your donations would be dedicated to the curriculum, personnel, and start-up costs needed to provide our children with a classical education founded on our five core virtues in pursuit of beauty, truth and good.

PHILANTHROPIC

DONATIONS

While it is not uncommon for a new charter or choice school to start with the generous, substantial donation of an angel donor, Merit Academy has not had such a financial foundation. GIven this, it is not too late for philanthropic donations to make a significant impact on the successful launch of Merit Academy. In fact, the timing is perfect and the need is still great.

If you know corporations or foundations that support school choice and may be eager to provide a momentous contribution to the start-up of Merit Academy (a 501c3 charity) please connect us to them through donations@merit.academy.

We would love to discuss the nature of the donation and opportunity for recognition.
